The Crone, the Wise Woman, she comes in many ways including as spirits of nature. In my Etsy shop I have some glorious Nature Spirit Dolls that hold the energies of the earth.
I make these from tree branches gifted to me and gathered from the woodland floor, I never cut a live branch. I also use faux greenery for longevity. Other natural elements like acorns, pine cones, moss, seed pods are all gathered from my own property.
The hair is mohair purchased from small farms where animals and humans live in harmony with love between them.
The fabrics and fibers are mostly upcycled or purchased from a fair trade women's collective in India, for the sari ribbon, or from small cottage industry sellers.
The yarns come from many places including cottage industry spinners who spin and dye their own yarns.
I usually make the faces from clay using a mold, sometimes they are my own sculpted designs, and occasionally I purchase terra cotta faces from an artisan in New Mexico.
Each one is unique, holding her own wisdom, energy and story which you can read in the Etsy shop.
They are wonderful companions and bring so much presence to your home altar or sacred space.
